Selection of a heat transfer fluid by a parameter


The basis of the heat transfer fluid is its main component, due to which heat transfer fluid / cooling medium does not freeze at temperatures below 00С.

Select a heat transfer fluid:

  1. Ethylene glycol-based
  2. Propylene glycol-based
  3. Glycerin-based
  4. Based on a mixture of propylene glycol and glycerin
  5. Based on potassium formiate

Any heat transfer fluid affects the materials of which the system is constructed. The result is the corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as deformation of the seals. To minimize this effect, corrosion inhibitors are added to the composition of a heat transfer fluid. They can be discarded in case when the system is made of stainless steel, polyethylene, polypropylene and some other materials.

Select a heat transfer fluid:

  1. Corrosion protection is necessary.
  2. Corrosion protection is not necessary.


The main characteristic of the heat transfer fluid is temperature at which it remain its functionality. This means that the heat transfer fluid will circulate freely in the system to achieve a set temperature. At lower temperatures crystallization of the heat transfer fluid will begin, up to its complete freezing.
