Potassium formate - review of properties
Potassium formiate (potassium salt of formic acid) has been widely used in recent years.
Its water solutions do not freeze at temperatures down to minus 600C, as well as maintain lower viscosity than differ significantly from water solutions of glycols.
The table below shows the basic properties of potassium formate and Its water solutions:
Solubility in water
Freezing temperature of 50% solution, 0С
Density of 50% solution at 200С, g/cm3
Kinematic viscosity of 50% solution at +200С, cst
Kinematic viscosity of 50% solution at -400С, cst
Specific heat 50% of 50% solution at -400С, kJ/(kg*0С)
Thermal Conductivity, W/(м*0С)
