Water solution of EG
Water solutions of ethylene glycol are a mixture of ethylene glycol and distilled/demineralised water. According to specifications, they are designed for use in various industries for technological needs.
Composition: Ethylene glycol, distilled/demineralised water, dye — if necessary.
The following models are produced:
- solution of ethylene glycol -5°С, -10°С, -15°С, -20°С, -25°С, -30°С, -35°С, -40°С;
- solution of ethylene glycol 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 42%, 45%, 50%.
Physical and chemical properties:
Solution of ethylene glycol
Clear homogeneous liquid
Corresponding to the colour of the dye used
Density at 20°С, g/cm3
Freezing point, °С, not higher
From -5 to -40, depending on the model
Water solutions of ethylene glycol are used in accordance with the recommendations of equipment manufacturers and technological instructions at enterprises.
Water solutions of ethylene glycol are non-flammable and explosion-proof.
Ethylene glycol is a moderately toxic (hazardous) substance. Its vapour has slight irritation, toxic and narcotic effects. Maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) of propylene glycol vapour in the air is 5 mg/m3.
Do not swallow the solution! Use only in technical systems strictly in accordance with the purpose!
General measures: Provide comfortable position, warmth, rest, access to fresh air, and conditions for unhampered breathing. Ethanol and vitamin B6 reduce harmful effects of ethylene glycol.
After contact with skin and mucous, rinse thoroughly with plenty of warm running water to completely remove the product.
If swallowed: Clean the mouth of residues of the product, rinse the mouth with water, provide abundance of water, give saline purgative. Consult a doctor.
MEASURES AFTER AN ACCIDENTAL LEAK
Provide good ventilation of the premises.
Take measures against further leak, fence the place, collect spillage using rags, sawdust, suitable absorbing material and send it for disposal.
If the spilled solution is washed with water, send the water to the wastewater treatment unit.
Avoid spilling to water and soil.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE CONDITIONS
Solutions must be transported in sealed containers.
Solutions must be stored in tightly sealed containers in well-ventilated warehouses and outdoor areas, protected from direct sunlight.
Guaranteed shelf life of solutions is 1 year from the date of manufacture.
Substandard solutions are sent to specialized organization for disposal according to DsanPІN 2.2.7.029.
